Large Abstract Art Commission for the luxurious "The Concord Calgary"

I am excited and honored to show you the installation of my large painting commission “Where Glistening Waters Flow” for the lobby of The Concord Calgary, a high-end luxurious residential condominium building located in the heart of Calgary, AB, Canada in a spectacular location along the beautiful Bow River.

The inspiration for this special painting is a modern abstraction of the elements of nature using shimmering rich metallics. The Bow River’s edge is a place of gathering for people to enjoy the energy of the water. The flowing river symbolizes a constant passage of time. The river rocks are nature’s grounding component which brings peace, prosperity and abundance into an area. The diverse rocks are smoothed harmoniously by the action of the sparkling water which brings light and the renewal of life.  Enjoy the following photos and descriptions.

My forward-thinking modern abstract concept continues the luxurious forward-thinking brand of Pacific Concord and their gorgeous residences. Looking at life and interpreting it differently and adding a little magic. In this painting, there are so many layers upon layers to build up the depth and the differing textures, all of which are inspired by the beauty of nature that people can enjoy on and around this property. The size of each painting is 30” x 68” and the painting extends around the deep sides which add a solid presence within the beautifully designed lobby. The Concord Calgary is the first of two prestigious residences to be built in this prime location. The second building has not been started yet, so find out more at theconcord.ca if you want to live in luxury. I am thrilled to create this special commission for a special company and for the residents of The Concord Calgary. Thank you very much to The Concord team for believing in this conceptual vision and to Jaime, Emily, Vandy (ArtMatch), Robert, Katherine, and David for your help on this project.

Below are progress photos, thoughts and details of the different aspects of the paintings. It was a process filled with changes and decisions as the painting shifted throughout the journey. Cheers!
